100 Best Nonprofits!

NWFS has again been voted one of Oregon's top 100 best Nonprofits to work for. This is the third year in a row we have earned this award! We couldn't do this without the support from our excellent staff. They are the ones who make our organization excellent! Thank you to them.

Community Engagement

Northwest Family Services strives to be a contributing member of this community.  You will find a list of programs and services that we gladly offer to the community in this section.

Active Parenting:

This 2-in-1 combo training workshop uses the popular Active Parenting Now and Active Parenting of Teens video and discussion programs. You’ll learn tips and techniques for leading parenting education courses in general, plus you’ll gain an understanding of the contents and principles of each program.

See schedule of classes.

CareerFit:

CareerFit is a four-part workshop series open to everyone looking to better develop their job search skills. Community experts and NWFS staff cover topics including interest and skill assessments, writing an effective cover letter and resume, how to conduct a job search, proper interviewing techniques and the impact of social networking media. Our programs are in English and Spanish.

What's Good About Anger:

Managing your emotions is important for achieving success in all areas of life, especially in relationships and work.  This workshop offers practical solutions to manage anger effectively, by empowering you to act, rather than react, to upsetting events.  You’ll learn to identify when and why you react with anger.  Developing strategies to direct your anger in appropriate ways is a key skill you will learn.

This course may satisfy court-mandated anger management requirements.
